Vision
The CTLPA Trinidad and Tobago Chapter will facilitate the development of a holistic tertiary education environment through continuous professional development of student affairs professionals and the promotion of a higher education stakeholder network.
Mission
Improvement of the tertiary education landscape of Trinidad and Tobago, through meaningful interaction with student affairs and academic stakeholders, in order to facilitate holistic student learning and the satisfaction of the educational needs of Trinidad and Tobago.
Core Values

Advocacy: Champion the developmental needs and concerns of student affairs professionals to provide caring, safe and just higher education community.
​
Diversity: The recognition that human beings with individual needs, aspirations, likes and dislikes are key variables in the Student Affairs equation. This recognition bears with it the mutual respect and understanding that is necessary for the advancement of personal, institutional and national goals.
​
Teamwork: Collective efforts channeled in a directional, synchronized fashion are key elements in the transition of an association from one that merely exists to one which is on the `cutting edge.’

Trust: The ability to express views and opinions openly and positively or maintain the strictest confidence and essential ingredients that must be manifest in the relations among the membership as well as in dealing with students’’ and stakeholders’’ concerns and other issues.

Care: The CTLPA is people centered, recognizing that critical decisions can impact adversely on individual’ lives as well as the capacity of the higher education system to meet the demands as espoused in the government’s Vision 2030 agenda. As such, the application of due care in decision-making and the discharge of the responsibilities of the CTLPA are of vital importance to the entire process.

Drive: The CTLPA embraces aggressiveness and pro-activity in the pursuit of excellence, and professionalism in the delivery of its mandate.

Excellence: Total quality consciousness is a hallmark of the CTLPA. Quality is manifested in all facets of its operations.

Value Added: Members are determined through their efforts to add value to the operations of the CTLPA as well as the Institutions to which they belong, fully cognizant of the fact that it would redound to personal organizational growth.

Accountability: Members of the CTLPA understand the difference between accountability and responsibility and discharging their functions in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the important mandate of the Association.
